hello people i bought a elco for 500 bucks as u can see in my profile. with a 305 the guy that sold it to me said rod bearings wore losed i was like ok so i changed it them i did the tune too spark plugs wires oil filter and reglued everything so no oil leaks i turn it on and alot smoke comes out from the exuast any one knows y... maybe cause the car been sitting there for a while?

its oil or water...or both?
does it smell like antifreeze or oil??? oil may have a slight blue tint.
are you loosing water out of the radiator?
is there water in the oil, or oil in the water???

if you didnt run it very long,could be valve seals,and it mite clear up,and only do it on a cold start.

have you done a compression test yet ???:dontknow:goodluck.

well it dont smell like water smells more like smoke lol but when it warms up the smoke cools down

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can get the pan off 79' 305 while the engine is in the car. That being said, you went to the trouble of pulling the engine and replacing the rod bearings, without putting rings in it or at least looking the valves over. Just keep adding oil and drive it. Tell your friends it is the special mosquito control issue.

it cause i had in the rain for a while out side covered with some plastic and carbon on top.... so rain wont get in it and pan was off maybe but the guy that fixed it for me said is runnin cool....hmmmmm idk? lol:poke:
