I've been combing the web for suspension parts for my '83 (305, 3-speed) & have a number of questions.
First: Sway bars. A number of suppliers are offering sway bars & the prices vary considerably. Is there a variance in quality, or other considerations before purchase ?
Currently considering
- Honest Charley who is offering fronts & rears at $149.95 each
- El Camino Store show them in catalogue, but no prices
- Kanter offer fronts & rears, $110 each with order for Front End Kit, or $135 without
- Orininal Parts Group are offering fronts & rears at 1/2 price, $79.95 each
There are likely others. Does anyone have some advice ? Original Parts Group look best on price !
All suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Go to the junkyard!
Rear bars - 16, 19 or 22 mm from a G-body
Fronts - either a 32mm from a G-body or a 34 Hollow from a late 80's F-body.
Shouldn't cost more than $40 for the pair. And get the jounce bars off a Cutlass or Monte Carlo (the frame connectors in front of the engine).

I had a friend that totaled his 86 MC SS. He was having a problem with his insurance company so it was going to be sitting at his house for a few days. We decised to swap the sway bars & braces over to my Ekly. Deffinently made a big difference. There has got to be some out there in junk yards waiting to be used.

I am using front and rears from Performance Suspension Technologies (PST). I bought mine with the polygraphite front end kit, so the price was discounted. I will, however, agree that the junkyard is a very good place to get suspension parts. I had a rear bar from a Grang Prix on my 81 along with the front strut bars. The car also had Eibach springs. It handeled well without alot of money. If you can't find the parts used, also look at Lauren Engineering. I don't remimber the pricing, but they do have all of the factory pieces.

If you find a G-body with both sway bars and frame bars you should grab the steering box. I got one from an '85 MC SS and it's a Quick ratio. It bolts up and really makes a difference.

I agree with b4black, get the larger diameter swaybars if possible from a boneyard (plenty available out there just look) plus the jounce bars, add a set of polygraphite bushings from PST, some KYB gas shocks all around, and some Airlift airbags. You'll be happy :-D

Thanks to all for the input in response to my query...I'll definitely have a look in the wrecking yards, as recommended by many.
