I'm shooting for Sunday.

I`m planning on only attending Sunday which is for cars and trucks . Saturday is for motorcycles . Neil , I read in their show info that registration and staging is from 8 am to 12 noon with judging to start as soon as the set up is complete . I got that info by clicking on their link above that Larry posted and then clicking on the photo of the cars/poster . I got a reservation for their car show price of $ 119 . You must ask for the car show price to get it . They will also do $ 124 if you have AAA . My printer is down so I can`t print off the entry form and mail it in , so my wife is going to try to print it at work for me and fax it to them. That is my only concern as I don`t want to chance driving just over 300 miles , paying for a room and not being able to get my car in if they fill up . If it was a shorter drive I would not be concerned . They said you can register the day of the show . I think they said $10 to preregister and first 100 get a goodie bag or $ 15 at the door . In their info I did not see a category for El Caminos so I`m assuming they will put us in with the trucks ? Again , it is as much a get together as a show . Carretera and Seraphyx are you thinking of coming as it is in your back yard ?

I try and reserve Sundays for family, but you guys are like family so I'll be there. :smileyb:

I made it in time to be #100 for the goody bag. Called them at 305-894-2375 and registered, by mail registration had to be there by the 18th and I did'nt feel comfortable sending my credit card info by fax. See you guys there.

I faxed my registration in this afternoon. Man, I hope I beat carretera LOL.

I just spoke to the car show staff and my faxed entry was received and they are mailing ( postal service ), info and my registration confirmation . They told me that they have 155 registered already as of 3-19-09 at 11:30 am . I sent out a bunch of emails to others including all the El Caminos listed for sale on Fl. Auto Trader and Craigslist from Jupiter south . If you have not been on those sites lately , there are some real nice rides for sale . Help them out if you can by spreading the word of their sale . Edonthebeach and El Chromeo , sorry you can`t make this one . Ed you sure had a big smile on your face in that photo of you and those four attractive ladies the night you received your award . Flo , hope you can make another get together down the road . Thanks for checking in . Hey Carretera, since we are family I was thinking I can get you to buy that new Moser rearend I`ve always wanted , Papa . LOL

Who's Moser, I personally know a Moe, he might be able to give a deal on a pegleg. I will miss Skinny but now I have a chance of winning best engine. I feel like going to where the women are and follow Ed. :smileyb:

Way to go guys looks like the weather is in our favor....so the weather lady said. FYI inside the hotel is good buffet breakfast/lunch if anyone is interested I think I paid something like $10/$15 or so last year. They also have in the show area dog, burgers soda's, water...etc. Try to get in early don't be left outside looking in. For those of you that like to gamble try to leave that extra cash at home :secret: lol. This is a fun show the good life of South Florida alligators, indians, nice show cars, vendors, eye :inlove: candy, most of all meeting up with friends. :beer:

well I made it past all the bells and bright, shiny lights to the car show but I did not find any members by their vehicles. Nothing like an $8 surf and turf. A lot of nice rides.

Congrats to Neil:You_Rock: go's to show what a great Elky you have!

Did this one win anything? Because I like the paint and the conch, and if he drove from Key West that's about 4 hrs on the weekend. I will try to post the pic.

Hey , nice to see the site is back up . Had a great time at the show . A great variety of daily drivers , project cars , restofied , and show cars ! Congrads to Larry , 84choochoo for his multiple wins and even got some prize money . I think his friends enjoyed seeing him also earn the major " Brown Award " that he must pass on to another deserving winner down the line . Neil`s hot Buick powered Elky took first place in the trucks class where they put all the El Caminos . It was a tough and well represented class . The tricked out Elky with the Corvette engine , trans and independent suspension was fabulous . Hope he will join this site and we will be treated with more info and photos of his ride . Enjoyed meeting up with Tony jr. and sr. and Eric . I think we all had a good time and their rides looked great . Strkpr00 , thanks for the compliment , that is my 87 . Sorry we were not around when you can by . Was that your nice dark grayish Elky I saw ? Normally the drive up to Miami is just over 3 hours but US 1 is busy this time of year . Glad I left at 6:30 am to get there or it would have been longer .The hotel and food was nice but I`m just not a gambler . I must say that I did enjoy looking at a lot of gorgeous women that were there . I love Florida . Warm weather equals shorts and tee shirts . More later .

My wife wont ride in my Elky, it looked that bad. I have carpet to install and window felts then maybe. Next year maybe.

Larry , great photos and thank you and Neil for posting them . Thanks also , as it was your idea to tell us about the show . To pick a favorite is hard with so many great rides . Knowing the personal work that Neil , Eric , Tony sr. and jr. put in their cars and Bob`s Vette powered Elky ; Oh My ! I wish I had gotten back to get another look at Big Al`s award winning Chev. truck . Strkpr00 who is going to do your paint job ? That radical Mini Cooper was something else . I ran into a number of friends from Key West that had come up for the motorcycle show the day before and several of my old students that are living in Miami saw my 87 , found me and to say hello and we laughed it up for a while . Hey , what car show can claim , that in addition to all the great vehicles ( 400 ) , they had live Alligator wrestling going on most of the day ? I loved it . It was the first time I had ever been in a gaming place . I envisioned people would be laughing , drinking , dancing and happy like in a double 07 movie . These people were serious playing at those slot machines ! What happened to the old one armed bandits ? They are all push button . I ate there three times and the food and prices were real good . The ride back down the Fl. Keys was wonderful . Traffic coming back was decent and the blues and turquois colors of the waters were outstanding . The ride is often some of the best parts of my road trips . Well for me , every time is a road trip.

Lenny I am having a neighbor paint it in his shop times are slow and I am working an extra 25 hrs of overtime a week, yea its time to paint. I stopped by today to look at it and its sanded, rear window sealed, tape and paint coming soon. I told him to work on it as a filler, Its needed paint for 4 years.
All those bandits are set to pay out at the rate of Bingo, they got my $25 but it was a good break from the heat and sun. Hopefully by Krome #9 my carpet will be in place. Its been in the garage for 4 months.
