I have a 1982 El Camino. I have had some Paint and Body work done on my car. Which they did a Great Job by the way. What I have noticed is that the hood seemed to be a little loose when I would lift it up. I figured just tighten the bolts on the hinge. I Gave the bolts a little more torque and saw that there is a little Hood Clip attached to the Hood Hinge? There seems to be a screw or bolt missing from each side? Can anyone tell me what are the measurements of this screw or bolt so that I can get the correct one? It would help in properly securing the hood in not having play in it when I lift the hood.

Here is a link to the Clip I am refering to?

It has threads like a wood screw with a 7mm head and a small washer on it. I'd say it is equivalent to about a #8 screw.

Yep, it holds the back of the hood to the hinge. Without it the hood will flex a bit too much.

Like 454 elky said, just get a hex head sheet metal screw from the hardware store.
