This question isn't to answer the aged debate of Edelbrock Vs. Holley Vs. Rochester vs. whatever else. I want to know what everyones opinions are on manual and electric chokes.

I never did get the choke to work well on my old quad. Installing a edelbrock with electric choke was one of the best things I did for my elky. No matter how cold it is , I get in, start it & let it warm up without me.

Definetly an electric choke. On below freezing days all I need to do is pump the gas once and turn the key. When the engine is warmed up another pump of the gas drops the idle down and your ready to roll.

I really have to agree with the posts above mine. I love my electric choke on my carb! I have not had to deal with a manual choke since I sold my '72 240Z.

yeah I also have problems with my rochester's electric choke. I'm just not sure if i want to dish out the extra cash to buy an electric over a manual choke. but your responses have given me ideas of what I should do.

Modern electric chokes are trouble free. There are no good reasons not to use them.

Electric is probably the best way to go.. If you have the stock hotair kind make sure you replace them if you put headers on it... throws them way out of wack..
