I'm working on the awards for the attendees at Carlisle. These will be chosen by popular vote of all Elky owners present and presented at the banquet on Saturday night. I have come up with the following 10 awards:

Best of Show Stock (most votes among all Gens)
Best of Show Modified (most votes among all Gens)
Best Engine
Best Paint
Best Interior
Best 1st Gen
Best 2nd Gen
Best 3rd Gen
Best 4th Gen
Best 5th Gen

I am open to suggestions and modifications, as long as we keep it to 10.

long distance award or gas card, I have talked with a Tex, La and Fl cars so that's some traveling.

You can always have these as the primary categories, they're good choices, and then have secondary stuff for more niche ideas. They can get some certificate, or something cheap, just so that people can vote for weird things like having a working 8 track, or the most cracks in a dashboard. That way those of us with cars that aren't exactly show quality will have something fun to do.

Set up a thread with like twenty ideas for weird categories and have a vote decide the ten best, if you want to keep it simple. Best idea I can think of, but I've never organized a car show.

As long as the award IS a gas card, then I'll definitely participate. It'll cost me at least $400 in gas, depending on prices. It's cheap in Houston, not sure what ya'll are paying up there.

I like Sir Tonk's ideas about having a bunch of secondary awards for "different (not usually acclaimed) characteristics"

---please sir introduce yourself to me in Carlisle - I like the way you think

Leo - you are doing an enormous amount of work on this - thank you for being the torch bearer

see y'all in Carlisle !

Keep in mind this one question... a simple one really... Who's going to pay for all these extra trophies and such. I'm keeping it at 10 trophies in order to make it simple. I like the idea of "goofy awards" but someone has to make the certificates and such, I only have so much time to do all this.

If someone will volunteer to help me with the trophy picks and tallies perhaps we can add these extra categories and I'll print up some goofy certificates like:
Worst Paint
Dirtiest Engine
Most Dents in One Vehicle
Hard Luck
stuff like that. No trophies, just some certificates. I'm open to all ideas!

I'll need some help with this too folks. We'll be passing our forms for everyone to fill in so I'll need help with collecting them and tallying the votes and passing them out on Saturday night at the banquet.

Phew... I'm tired already!

should be manageable for an expert shower like Leo and the car count will be 15 to 25 probably, I sure hope it higher in all Gen's

Leo , I think the ideas of Skinyfisher , Sir Tonk and comments by El Bandido are real good . As much as I would love to, I don`t think I will be able to attend but would like to see others enjoy the event ; especially , considering the efforts they are going to put in to get there . If it would help with the gas card or certificate idea I would donate an additional $ 100 to help with the cost and perhaps some others could chip in to make up any difference needed . Hopefully , those attending could assist you in these efforts as I `m sure you and others are already putting in a tremendous amount of your time and effort on our club`s behalf . Let me know and thanks again .
