Always wondered the same thing, so just to support the question, i'd like to know the answer too. Also Alu vs Iron? Is Alu only a matter of weight??

Angle v Straight will play a part on your type of Exhaust Manifold or Header type.
Iron v Alum. is a weight factor as well as a heat disapation factor.
Cost may also be a factor as well as the looks department.

So say i have headers, would a straight feed works better than angle? What's the correlation if not too much to ask?

Depends on which headers you run, also aluminum heads can run 1/2 more compression than iron on the same grade on gas.

The angle plug position directs the spark kernel more towards the center of the combustion chamber, and it moves the plug tip more to benifit of cooling from the cool incoming intake flow. It WILL make slightly more power than a straight plug head. But it's a onsey-twosey thing. NOT a big HP leap. The big difference is usually angle plug heads have more R&D in them and have been designed and factory ported to have better flow characteristics. The BIG drawback to angle plug heads is finding a header that will work. I know for fact that there are only one or two headers made for the 2nd Gen Camaro that will work with angle plug heads, but there are HUNDREDS that wont. With as much trouble as I had finding a shortie header to even fit my 67 SBC Camino,, all I can say is GOOD LUCK!

BTW, that E-tec head bunkie has for sale up there is an AUSOME head. My buddy had a set of the 170's on a 406 he ran at the track in a 74 Nova. Was a frequent high 10second flier and he drove the 100 miles to the track. They require the Vortec dedicated intake, but they are simply a GREAT design. Beat the heck out of the RHS and GM vortec design. Low lift flow in those heads make them a fantastic street head.
