Had a new headliner installed yesterday but the Dude broke 2 of the clips that hold the back window upper garnish.
He can find the part #194-2069 in the LSP book but they no gottem. Tried the dealers and the local body shops, ditto.
Any body got a couple of the puppies hangin around? They are the same as the Elkie.
Or is there another method of hanging this piece?
Thanks!!!

Last I checked, they were still available from the dealer, the number you have is not a GM number... I don't have the number, but I bet Ernie Does.

That's a pretty sure bet Robert.
GM still has them. I bought both the front and rear clips last October when I replaced my headliner. It's a given that the clips will break when you're removing the trim so it's best to be prepared and buy both front and rear clips before you attack the headliner. The rear clips are part number 20061050. They are called "Clip, Back Window Garnish Upper". The front clips are part number 20058837. They are called "Clip, Windshield Upper Garnish Molding to Roof". I think there are also some aftermarket companys that make them too.
Here is a picture of all of the clips needed to do a headliner. The front clips are on the right and rear clips are on the left. The white clips are needed for the headliner trim between the A and the B pillar.

My '85 used 5 for the rear garnish, and yes, I got them from the dealer last month.

I've seen some El Caminos that use five clips and some that use three. My 79 Elky had five clips and my 87 had three. I really don't think that five are necessary to hold up the headliner. It just makes it a little bit harder to line the clips up for the installation.

I bought some clips today at the swap meet in Ga. this guy is really reasonable. His website is www.floridaautofastener.com and he sells on ebay as well.
I bought rear window garnish clips for my 74 at .75 a piece. Door rubber clips (the ones that hook into the rubber around the door) at .20 a piece.
He has all kinds of stuff!

Sorry Lee, I really don't know. I only try to find 5th gen stuff. Best thing to do is call your local GM dealer.

the kool thing about doing the head liner is that they usually hide a copy of the build sheet up there and in the 9 el caminos i have had to date all of them were in perfect shape . its kinda kool to see exactly what options your car came with .
