I am in the process of having my '85 Camino painted, I am going to eliminate the old header emblem is the best way to just fill and build up the hole or is there a header panel I can use which did not have the emblem hole and fits this yr car, tkx.

Build and fill using epoxy, thats what we are doing with my 85'. Just take your time and do it right because if you rush it, it will definetely show when you paint the car. Good luck. After mine is finished, will post before and after pics.:nanawrench:

The best way to do it would be to make a little round patch and weld it in the hole, then use filler as needed to smooth it out. Just stuffing a hole with filler you run the risk of it shrinking and cracking and showing up in the paint.

How do you weld fiberglass? Sorry, couldn't resist. I can tell you that the body man who filled the hole in the header of my '87 must not have prepped things correctly as the outline of the hole telegraphed through the paint. I'm just waiting for the day that the filler pops out.
