steelybill 04-13-2009, 11:19 PM I've seen brakes listed for '73 to '77 Elcos as 9 inch. I've had three of those and they have all had 11" inch brakes. Were 9 inch ever used on these? My Malibu ('74 ) has 9 inch, but I haven't seen an Elco of those years with the smaller drums. just curious...... My '74 Malibu originally had 14 " wheels, so maybe that's the reason for 9 " brakes. steelybill 04-21-2009, 01:11 PM I think you are correct Frank. My '76 and '77 had 11 inch brakes, but they also came with 15 inch wheels. The 9 inch Ford I'm putting in has 11 inch X 2 1/4 shoes, which I think are wider than the old shoes. May have to fool with the proportioning valve set up. | ||
