Alot more information is needed if you would like to see if we can give you some ideas :secret:
What all did you install, type / brand / components. Engine size / other moods.
You say it makes a loud noise when you turn the key back. What makes a noise? What kind of noise?
What does the noise sound like? Is this a NEW Ign. system, or used?
We will try to point you in the right direction, but you will have to help us by providing us with the right information. There are alot of very knowledgeable folks here willing to assist you any way we can, but in order for us to do that, you have to help us. You may not have your answer lick-ity-split, but we should be able to get to the bottom of it sometime this year >> lol :poke:(Unless Doug sees this, he's a perty smart cookie that Doug is, he he he) {private joke} In the mean time while we wait for your updated info, I'm going to get another cold one.

Yeah, I Saw it. I might be a "smart Cookie" (smart a$$ really). I don't have a clue right now. Like Larry wrote, need more info, "electronic ignition" covers a lot of possibilities. Have a helper turn the key and get your head under the hood and try to determine where the noise is coming from.

Just a short shot here, but maybe you have a couple plug wires switched, which would/could cause a a backfire. It's worth it to check the firing order again.

By the way, did you run a switched 12 volt wire from the fuse block ? The old point ignition has a resistor in the wire going to the coil, and has only around 9 volts on it. The electronic types will want a full 12 volts, and a heavier wire like 18 gauge if it's an after-market type like MSD. Even with a GM HEI a bit heavier wire is a good idea.
That's if you can fix the no-start problem:nanawrench:

Sorry its been so long for a reply but i have been busy with school... But i asked some guys around town about the problem and me and my dad just decided to hopefully get rid of all problems and put in a new distributor and spark plug wires and see where that gets us. Hopefully i will get back to u guys with some good news. Thanks
