I have looked in all the normal spots for a build sheet for my 70 ls6 El Camino. under the carpet,on top of gas tank, under the seat springs, behind the seat backs. Any other ideas on where to look!?

I spoke with Jeff Dotterer a senior judge for the Diamond Restoration / Benchmark certification. He told me build sheets for Cars built at the Kansas plant are not as common as other plants. That he has seen only one LS6 el camino with a build sheet at all.

Rick, I dont know if this will be helpful, but I hope so. When my '81 El Camino was wrecked, I tore the vehicle apart and the bulid sheet fell out of the headliner. Suprised the hell out of me. It was between the roof and the padding. The truck is gone, but I still have the sheet. I haven't looked in my 78SS. I cant get myself to tear down the headliner. I hope this helps.

Rick, that is one very sweet and rare El Camino you have there. Must be a lot of fun to drive.

Really sweat Ride, especially with the Big LS6 "yeehaa" rare breed there!

You might look behind the door panals, usually (from what I've read) passenger side?

Then again, because it is so rare, they may not have stashed one......

It should be the same for most 5th gens. Certainly the same for the 85-87, since they were all produced in the Mexico plant.
