I have a 1985 El Camino with two tone paint. It is dark blue metallic with silver on the lower (rocker panel area). It does not have the two tone moulding (No Moulding at the paint break and it has full wheel opening mouldings) It also does not have the "El Camino" emblems on the rear area of the quarter panels. Does anyone know if any 1985s came this way or if it may be subtle "customization" by a previous owner? I have a 1985 Chevrolet sales brochure and it is not much help.
Thanks

Chances are the paint is correct but that can be verified off the ID plate under the hood. If the El Camino emblems are missing then they are just missing. GM made sure they were there from the factory. Maybe the owner (last one) didn't like them or they just fell off.

The only 5th gen that came with a paint scheme as you describe was the SS. But, the blue upper and silver lower was not a combination that was offered from GM nor were the wheel opening moldings. It sounds like a previous owner repainted your El Camino to look like an SS and customized it with aftermarket full wheel opening mouldings. The missing emblems would possibly confirm the repaint.

Interesting. Is the Service Parts sticker still in the glovebox? If it does, look for RPO D91 (Conquista) or RPO Z15 (Super Sport). Does it have a full front air dam (spoiler)?
BTW, all Choo Choo Customs SSs came without the rear El Camino quarter scripts.

look for the build sheet... under headliner, inside doors or under seat.
