Red River Valley Car Club will be holding it's 25th annual car & truck show on the courthouse square May 30, 2009. We usually have 100+ vehicles in attendance. Also, there are several places to eat on the square, so you won't have to eat hot dogs and turkey legs all day like you do at most car shows. Here's the flyer:

The zip for Bonham is 75418 if you want to mapquest it. If you need directions, feel free to PM me. Hope you can come!
Sure would be nice to see about a dozen Elkies there this year! Bring 'em out!:texas:

I'll be there, Glenn. Have you heard from any of the other members in your area?...........Ken

No, not yet. Only had about 15 views of this post. I'll put it on the main page this Friday to see if it generates any interest. Glad you will be able to make it! I'll be there in my Corvette for sure, and possibly the Elky if I can get the oil leakage issues resolved this weekend and get the tires and wheels taken care of. If I do bring the Elky, it will be display only, as we do not have an "under construction" class this year. I'll be there early to help set up, so I'll be sure to save a place for you since I know you're coming. If any other El Camino Central members want to come, let me know, and I'll make sure we can all be together.

Thanks for making the post about the car show in Bonham. I bought my 1966 El Camino about 3 weeks ago and just joined this web page. I drove over my '66 over from Sherman this morning and enjoyed the show.

Best regards,

Doug, I got pictures of your '66. (Hard to believe there were 2 white '66 Elkys at the same show!) Was yours the one with the red interior or the blue interior?

'gator,

My 66 was the one with the red interior. I just bought it a few weeks ago in east Texas. It's pretty original.

I liked the 66 with the blue interior, for sale. It has the V-8 engine. I called my wife and tried to convince her we needed a "twin" for her to drive. She's not convinced.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I enjoyed the drive over to Bonham and seeing the show. It was a pretty good turnout.

Best regards,

Yeah, I heard the other '66 was available. Did you ever get to talk to the owner about price?

No, I didn't. It looks like you have several interesting cars.

LOL..yeah, several is right. I need a bigger garage more than I need more cars.
Is your '66 a 327 with a "3 on the tree"?

'Gator,

Sorry for the late response -- busy week.

No, my '66 has a straight 6 with 3-on-the-tree. I'm the 3rd owner; just purchased it from an 85-year old gentleman who owned it since 1974. It's not perfect, but a good starting point and driver.
