I was wondering if anybody could be in use of an old 305. not sure of the miles because it was out of an 88' camaro, the engine was transfered before i had got the car. The 305 ran great but i had spun the bearings on one of the rod journals. I know a shop around my house could fix that problem for like $150. The 305 has all internals with heads, has no manifold and no oil pan. make me an offer, let me know if anybody is interested.

Boy, I wish that shop was around me. A crank and rod - or regrind, gaskets, bearings, fluids and etc. Does that 150 $ include installation? Just joking but this ought to get some more 305 comments going.

Just joking but this ought to get some more 305 comments going.:dontknow:Wellllllll...I don't know who would start it...anyone? I'm waiting. Here's your big chance. You'll get to go first...Too late. Buy a nice size boat and 200ft of chain...bolt the chain to the 305...they make greatttttt boat anchors...and if the chain breaks no biggy...ceptin your boat driftin away...and if your really lucky you should still have most of the chain. If you look up the word "JUNK" in your Funk and Wagner's dictionary...I'll give you a guess what they show a picture of next to the word...OK I'm done fer now. (ok now I know that you guys that have 305's know I'm really just kiddin...so don't get all bent out of shape...I wouldn't want you to feel inferior or be emotionally distressed for that matter and be unable to function in society for the rest of the day...I did study psychology and actually did my term paper on guys who own Chevys with 305's...so I do know it's possible...if you need to talk I'm here for ya...they also now make prescription drugs specifically for 305 owners)

It's actually an affliction known as "cubic inch envy" Guys with small cubic inches just naturally feel inferior to us guys with big cubic inches!

So am I gonna be a big puss if i put a 383 in mine? :dontknow:No no no...383 is plenty big...not that I'm peeking mind you....most people are quite impressed by the performance of a 383! You should be proud...that's like 20% larger than a 305 and like 12% larger than the average 350. It's the guys with the lil wimpy 305's that can't stand up and be counted when the need arises....Of course if you still feel inadequate you could always implant a 572 in there....now that would be monsterous!

This site is like those Enzyte commercials for bigger better performing engines.I'm not sure what Enzyte is...is that some sort of fuel additive like an octane booster...but if your referring to that Enzyte commercial where Bob is driving a stock car, if you look close that stock car that Bob is driving is a Toyota...studys show that Enzyte doesn't work... likewise Toyota doesn't measure up in NASCAR. I don't know what size cubic inch motors Toytota runs in NASCAR...my guess is like a 265...the Japanese car manufacturers are not known for big cubic inches.

Thats good to hear. I would do a big block but I don't want to change out everything else. It had a 327 so I just figured a 383 w/ 440 hp and 460 ftlbs of torque would be fast enough. I will let you fellas know when I order it. (the sooner The better:nanawrench:):smileyb:
