Its official the ACES has decided to open its membership up to include the 73-87 models. If anyone doesnt know Aces is the national Chevelle club. Before they only allowed 64 to 72 models of chevelles and elcaminos into the club. Now with the price of these cars going up and more younger people being used to the later models they have decided to expand there membership. If anyone is interested they can go to the website and check it out. Our club (ceccco) is part of the ACES family but we have always allowed up to 87 models in our group. The president of ACES Mr Chuck Hanson plans on attending our show on July 18 and 19. They are even talking about getting a group of guys together and all driving thier chevelles out from Tennesse.

If all you do is pay your $45 then that's all you will get out of it. But, if you attend any ACES events you will soon find it is much more than that. Over the years I have met some people who have become dear friends and I have shared some good times with them. It's also a great place to network for info and parts, ACES has events in all areas of the country and many members attend more than one, even all of them, each year.

The infrastructure is there, by adding the additional models to the format an even better outlet for our cars is available. You could take advantage of this as an asset or you can have a negative outlook and miss out on something you would most likely enjoy, in which case you could save your $45 and go your own way. I'll admit I haven't always agreed with some of Chucks program but at the end of the day I've always been a supporter.

Hmmm.... I don't think I need to spend $45 a year to join a club just to get a member card, window decal, and six magazines per year.

The same to be said for almost every car club.

I like that Chuck as decided to include them. The Chevelle club I have been active in as always allowed the 73-84 Chevelles and the 73-87 El Caminos. And I beleive most of the Chevelle clubs do include them. I know most of the clubs hosting ACES regional shows do.
