: Touched down in Rotterdam harbor!

Finally last friday i got the good news that my camino was out of its container. Dropped everything i was doing, picked up my gf and we drove from Utrecht to Rotterdam.
Whilst dodging some semi's and some minor trafficjams, my mind raced as what to expect.
Will it be a total wreck or just a good decent camino.

But when i walked in the main hall where all the other cars were parked i could already see a light blue 69 camino's headlights. Totally excited we walked up to the car...
Oh my... its hudge and blue, but what a nice looking car! even better looking then the car i went to see in Holland... Im totally happy with my new truck... looking forward on getting him home and driving it.

But first the dutch DMV needs to check up on it and approve it to be road worthy and trust me.. they're picky and holland has too many rules.. (especially when comparing it to the US)
Plans for the camino are:
Getting my new oldtimer license plates, getting some fresh perf headers and a couple of flowmasters. and offcourse gradually making my engine bay look fresher and cleaned up.
Im still deciding if i should go with flowmaster 40's or 50's.

So anyone have some tips on what i should choose? Cause i dont know how much a camino has issues with the interior resonance with 40's and some people suggest i should get the flowmasters SUV style mufflers...

But to finally let you guys see the pictures.. here goes (p.s. for more pictures visit www.twelve.nl (http://www.twelve.nl) - my personal webpage/blog

wahahahaha... elky's are girls... she hasnt told me (s)he's either.. but i do agree.... especially the older versions.. they're to pretty to be guys... from 72 the sex differs and the eighties are definitly boys ha ha

i dont know what rims these are.. ill try to find out for ya

Ha ha.. im not gonna drive my truck on the road without plates and insurance.. wouldnt dare take the chance she'd got hurt (and not getting any money back to get her fixxed) and all and all the money i might need to spend to the cops and hauling her off the road (when you do get caught) will benefit her more when its invested in her... :)
and its not like its a car that your likely gonna miss if you see it driving by... hardly inconspecious... so bust rate will go up compared to if you'd choose to do that in a toyota camry :)

Congrats Mate, mighty fine Elky fer sure! Flow-master has a set that are 44's, I put a set on my '77 / 454 BB with long tube Headers and just loved the results. That's after trying a set of Magnaflows as well as both the 40 and 50 series Flow-masters. 40's were too much, 50's not enough, and the 44's, ending just at the Differential were perfect for me. I went with 3" pipe from Header to Muffler, approx. 20" long, then the Muffler, then dropped to 2 1/2" out with 2 1/2" Tips angled at 45 deg. down just at the rear Axel Tube, Awesome is all I can say.
On another note: Welcome to your new extended Family, Your Brothers and Sisters have your back, and are here to assist any way we can.

Congratulations, Dutch69ElCamino. That is really a good lookin' El Camino. I hope you've found a mate for life.

I have Flowmasters (40s) on my big block '68, and with new Dynamat installed throughout the interior, the reverberation back to the interior has decreased dramatically. With the windows down, you can still enjoy the sound of the cam at low idle, or the natural roar of the Flowmasters under acceleration. With the windows up, the radio provides audible entertainment without cranking it up to ear-damaging decibels. However, I'm quite sure that you are going to enjoy the 350's sound, regardless of what exhaust options you choose..............Ken

Congrats on you finally getting your hands on your 69'. That must have been some worrying about what and when it was going to finally get in your hands. Hope to see more pics soon, It's looking good. My 69' looks totally oppisite of yours as the previous owner spent time and money on the engine and let the body and interior go. Good luck with your project. Phil:nanawrench::You_Rock:

Congrats! Glad it made it to your side of the pond safely. You'll certainly stand out in traffic in your neighborhood.

I have flowmaster 40 series mufflers on my 86 El Camino, and it sounds great. Only a small bit of interior resonance.

Enjoy your Elky.
