I have a 95 LT1 and as stated above opted for the carb setup for simplicity sake. Standard HEI distrubutor. TH 400 transmission.
My questions are:
Accessory brackets - Best choice?
a. Corvette serpentine
b. After market - March products
c. other.
What would be the problem with installing an harmonic dampner (minus the hub spacer) for an external balanced lt1 and early model pulleys and v belts? With corresponding brackets
What headers or exhaust manifolds fit the best?
Thanks

As far as Headers etc.. are concerned you can use the stock manifolds as they will fit a g-body.. Finding a set of D-port shaped headers is a different story.. I don't know if anyone makes them to fit a g-body yet, I ended up remaking a set of flowtechs.. Got a set of 3/8" D-port flanges and cut the original flange off the headers and welded these on.. work great!
Not sure about the balancer situation for sure.. I've been told that the vortech motors and LT1's share the same crank so that may be something to look into..
If you need a Intake for your LT1 to use the carb let me know.. I have one! In like new condition, was used for two weeks....$200 shipped to you..

I have a 82' el camino with a 94 LT1 and I belive there is a Z28 camaro trani under it. (It was a impulse buy) Either way, between the computer, the bad wiring, and the over all crappy perfomance of the car, I am ready to put a carbureted system on it, for simplicity. I know I need an intake manifold, carburetor, new fuel regulator, and I'll have to re do the wiring for the starter, what else can you tell me about what I need to do. I'm not looking for power (yet) I just want my engine to run smoothley, and correctly.

Personally I would try to figure out what was wrong with the EFI first! You would get the best performace and smoothest operation over a carbuerator.... But, If ya' got to rip it apart and go carb... it's pretty simple. Get your manifold from me for $200 + shipping, buy a Holley 650 / regulator etc.., get a good HEI Vac advance distributor and put it all together.... All you need for wiring on that would be a switched 12v. to the coil and your choke! Leave the optispark on the motor and just unhook it.....
As long as you have your carb jetting and timing correct you won't loose any performace top end.. just all around drivablility and fuel mileage over a properly functioning EFI setup.. What is yours doing? You have a MAF setup or Speed Density? Maybe I can help get your EFI working right?
