Now all you have to do is make the garage look like the one on Hot Rod TV! :P
Thanks for sharing the great and exciting news!
John Harris 02-13-2004, 03:38 PM And now you have to start buying hammers, saws, paint brushes, lawn mowers, etc., etc., etc.
And then come children, clothes, tuition, SUV's...arrghh.
Best of luck on your new adventure!
"And don't forget to take out the trash, honey."
87ElCamino 02-13-2004, 03:57 PM Congratulations Ben. There's nothing like owning your own place.
Is your hand sore from signing all the mortgage papers?
AHSOM70 02-13-2004, 04:00 PM Congratulations Ben. There's nothing like owning your own place.
Is your hand sore from signing all the mortgage papers?
Actually signing wasn't a problem at all- but my foot is tired from repeatedly having to kick the sellers in the *** to Clean up, finish repairs, sign papers, etc etc etc... :P
Tommy 02-13-2004, 05:05 PM Congrats, it has just started!
acauth1 02-13-2004, 05:27 PM Congratulations Ben. There's nothing like owning your own place.

I hear ya, finally bought a home myself, well, will be two years now in May. Not bad for 25 for sure, this is my first and I'm only 43! Have fun making it all yours, we busted butt for the first year fixing it up like we wanted, still a couple things left to do. Sellers are a pain ain't they?
meatball 02-14-2004, 11:07 AM Concrats Ben! Just make sure the Garage is heated and you have a good security lock so you can keep that nice elky of yours safe and warm. Enjoy all the additional projects and barbeques with friends this summer!
Poltergeist 02-14-2004, 11:23 AM Congratulations! 8) The fun has only started for you with owning a house. It's going to be the biggest hobby you have now.
theelcaminofactory 02-14-2004, 01:03 PM Did you ever see that movie...oh what's it called...oh yeah, "The Money Pit" Welcome to the world of migraine headaches and excessive bills! On the other hand you own it, it's yours, and you get to do what you want, when you want (within reason), and no one can say $#!+. Now buy a twelve pack of beer, put a set of open headers on your Elky, and fire that engine up at about 2 AM and really impress your new neighbors! You'll find out who your new friends are real quick.
427chev67 02-14-2004, 03:29 PM It will be 2 yrs in May for me also. So far I've bought two new saws, a shop vac, sheet rock tools and garden tools. I still have to borrow a riding mower. Ahh the joy of homeownership! That El Camino sure comes in handy.
spoonplugger 02-14-2004, 10:09 PM Congrats on buying the house. The only thing nicer is the day the last mortgage payment is made which is what happened to me recently!

Seriously, congratulations to you.
Scully 02-15-2004, 05:42 PM Nice house - congratulations - Nice lookin' Elky too. I remember how good it felt when my wife and I got our first home, the only thing better was the birth of our son. Good luck!
Tommy 02-15-2004, 05:53 PM Are those solar panels on top of the house? What are they hooked out to?
Nice Elky by the way.
ElkyPete 02-16-2004, 08:00 AM It will be 2 yrs in May for me also. So far I've bought two new saws, a shop vac, sheet rock tools and garden tools. I still have to borrow a riding mower. Ahh the joy of homeownership! That El Camino sure comes in handy.
Keep buying! I've been in my "Home" 20 years now. 10 more and it will either fall completely down or it will be all mine. But,,, with all the troubles and issues and crap you have to deal with daily, its still much better than having or living in an Apartment. My opinion anyway.
I am amazed how many tools I have to own to do upkeep on the house and make it as easy as possible on myself.
Fist thing, Self-propelled Lawn Mower. Pushing those around in the hot summer really "spanks!" Then all the cheap electrical stuff can't deal with rock hard dirt in the summer so hello to a new set of more expensive lawn and gardening tools that use Gas. My trees are as old as the house and every year need pruning so now I own a Chain Saw, Wagon, Tree loppers etc... and the list goes on.
But somewhere between the spring and summer when the lawn is nice and green and alive, and the honey suckle vines are blooming its really nice to set out in the yard in the evenings, admire the days work and have a Ice Cold Beer.
70ELCO 02-16-2004, 08:36 AM That is a big proud smile I see on your elky's grill! Home sweet home and a garage space just for me! :P
