I'm working on a 1:18 scale diecast '65 El Camino project:

We are confused about the bench seat details on this car. I know Chevelles very well, but El Camino details I don't know so well.

This is what I believe to be true, please correct me if I'm wrong so we can get the details on this model to be accurate:

-The Custom EC used the same folding bench seat as the Malibu
-The standard bench seat in the Custom EC has a cloth/vinyl cover
-An all vinyl seat cover was available as an upgrade/option (at least it was on the Malibu)
-Some, but not all, bench seats in the Custom EC/Malibu line received the vertical chrome strips on the edge, others did not.
-All the factory literature I have on this topic says the seat will have cloth/vinyl and chrome trim but I know this was not always the case.

I have a Malibu SS so I'm really more familiar with bucket seats. A friend owns a 1000 point '65 Malibu convertible with an all vinyl bench with no chrome trim on the edge. This is the seat we modeled for use in the Malibu models and the Custom El Camino models. I've owned at least one Malibu parts car that had an all vinyl bench without the chrome trim.

Question 1: was the all vinyl seat available in the Custom EC?
Question 2: were the chrome trim pieces optional, a mid-year add or delete or ???

Thanks in advance for any input.
