hey guys,
i need a pair of rear brake light sockets for my 1973 el camino. anyone know where i can pick up a new set of these? i have checked the usual vendors and no luck.

did you try O.P.G.I.?, I got mine through NAPA auto parts store.

Most auto parts have them.

I went and found a set of GM units from the salvage yard! From a car with the lights through the trunk!
Most from the parts houses are cheap junk that don't work good or go bad quickly!:neutral2:

The "HELP" line of parts is pretty decent quality.

In the parts stores you have a choice, made in China, Thailand, or Indonesia:smileyb:

The ones I got from Autozone worked but real cheap looking. I did see some on eBay that claimed to be NOS replacements and looked exactly like my originals.

Nothing like genuine GM parts! AZ ones ARE cheap! I'll stick with my bone yard GM sockets!:nanawrench:

That's fine but it depends on where in the country you are. Not much around here that old stays in a yard. They're flattened almost imediately and sent for scrap!
Probably most of what's on our newer cars is from China, Indonesia, Thialand, etc. Delco batterries for example are made in China.
If you can pick the parts yourself and see the condirtion of what you're buying that's great. If you're relying on an ebay description well I hope it's as good as expected.

Check with caveman 49, Lee might have a couple good used sockets to spare!:cool1:
