OK guys, need help on this one. I have a 396 with stock heads and an air gap intake. I pulled the motor to replace the heads with a set of aluminum Patriot Freedom heads. Upon doing so, when I test hitted my intake it no longer fits. It apears to be way to small when its installed into place. Its not even close.

When I purchased these heads, nobody even mentioned anything about needing a certain intake to fit these heads. OK the yolks on me. I assumed my intake would fit. But it doesn't. Does this mean I have a tall deck head? I have never seen this problem before.

what part number did you order? is it the 2214?if so,well I think there for a tall deck.
{Chevy High Performance used these to build their 675 hp 496 in their Jan.2008 issue.}
or revamp your intank system.:dontknow:

It's part#2211. It's the same head as the 2214 but has a .600" lift. I'm going to check that issue and see what kind of intake they used and go from there.

What doesn't fit? Ports don't line up? Do you have an oval intake & rectangle port heads? Or in the manifold not sitting down on the block?
