I'm in Carlisle after a miserable 8hr trip! Normally takes 4 or less. Rain, rain, and more rain, and when it didn't... rain construction!

Anyway, I'm here at the Comfort Suites room 402 so anyone getting in on Thursday be sure to call me and we'll hang on Thursday night. Cell 516-978-6190

Let the fun begin!

Jon

Just saw your post. Pick up Rt 78 West by Newark AIrport. Turns into 81, take exit 52 for Carlisle.

trick is in getting to NJ. Through Manhattan is the shortest but obviously not during rush hours. Belt to Verrazano is always miserable jusst like the GWB. Which misery you choose is up to you :???:

To all that make it have a great show, I wanted so to make it but medical orders and good sense will keep me home. Having my car on the banner sorta puts me there in thought and picture, but not the same at all. Leo good job and to all a good show and may the ELky's shine and enjoy the turn in the spotlight.

I still might make it down. I have to make that call this afternoon. It's a 4.5 hour drive (I'm in Rochester NY).
I'd have to leave here at like 3:00 am to make the gate by 9 Saturday. If work hadn't been so goofy as of late (@#$%@#$ deadlines) I'd be there today.
this is driving me nuts....!!!

Well I Almost made it!

Here I sit in a hotel in VA, apparently with the stud that holds the air filter on, securely wedged somewhere in one of my heads. Franticlly searching for some SBC heads (something has to be bent)in the middle of nowhere! On top of that hoping that a piston isn't broke.
The hotel ppl let me tow it to the back lot and work on it there, so maby see yall tomorrow? I'm only 2 hrs away, would you mind a Corolla rental amongst ya?:dontknow:

I made it to the tent this afternoon,Met a couple fellow members and chatted with pa- elker and the big rain hit, with lots of lighting. Everyone scattered.Didn' have a chance to talk to the others and look at their fine rides.I plan to return tomorrow and hangout and meet a few more members. I left for home when all the lighting started but when I got to the south side of town it was sunny and hadn't rained ! Crazy Pa thunderstorms .:dontknow:

Are you kidding me? That now makes three hard luck stories, all equally deserving of the "Hard Luck... so what else can go wrong" Award of Dubious Achievement. This will be a tough one to decide.

Hope you get it going and if not... bring that Corolla in and we'll put some El Camino stickers on it and try to fool the judges.

The turnout today was excellent, at least 50 El Caminos were on the show field, it was terrific.

The weather was perfect.

Here are some pictures of all the El Caminos.

Next year I hope it will be bigger. We should start plaining for people who live far away like Texas and places like that. The sooner we start the better chance we have of getting even more people their at the show.

Agreed. We need to have an Elky homecoming caravan from different regions to make Carlisle next year. This could be similar to what Corvette clubs do when they have the Corvette homecoming in Bowling Green, KY. I'm glad to hear that everyone seems to want to have a big NECOA presence at Carlisle next year, as I greatly regret not being able to make it this year, but next year...who knows?:dontknow:
