I know some good engine guys in CT if you find something that needs a rebuild, or if you want to buy a 350 long block.

I live in eastern CT and get my engines from Dobles chevy now called Quirk chevy in Manchester NH. I bought a 290 hp 350 a year ago from them $1950.00 I believe it was and no tax. Go up 395 to 290 to 495 to exit 35B and rte 3 then 293 to exit 1, go left Quirk is on the right. The warehouse for engines is in the back of the lot. You have to pay at the parts counter first. They got tons of crate engines.

Yeah that's what I would recommend. You can go to your local yard and they might have some already pulled and ready for install. Though you can buy a new one from jegs or summit or any online dealer and they usually come with a decent warranty wich when it comes to engines is alwase a pluss, if your lucky the yard you go to might have a warranty but usually its not that good if they even have one. Good luck on getting a good engine bro I hope you can score a cheap one. :nanawrench:

Well,if I can't find a body for my 78,there will be alot of good parts for sale including a new 350/330hp crate motor.less than 200 miles on it.

I have a good running 305 engine from a 1987 Caballero with 85K if your interested. Its located in Candia, NH and the bodyshop can do the engine swapping with tune up or just pull the engine and place into your truck. It is probably more likely that it will cost a lot less by using this shop in NH vs one in CT. The engine is from my parts car which ran excellent when I purchased last November. I was starting it every month until a couple of months ago when the battery failed to start it.
