Well folks, today was a great day. We had about 30 El Caminos at the show, actually probably more since many people were arriving and leaving at all times of the day. For Friday that was a lot of cars, some clubs had 5 cars, some none. We had Elkys from every generation. I took a quick look around the fairgrounds and I honestly think we had more cars than any other club.

Looking around the show it is definitely dominated by the El Camino from T-shirts, to the cover of the show book, to the indoor exhibit, to our own large turnout. We couldn't ask for a better 50th birthday tribute.

Tons of fun, especially putting faces with names, seeing member's cars we've only seen in photos, meeting family members, checking out all the other cars.

Weather was cloudy and breezy all day but about 3:00 the skies just opened up with torrential downpours, thunder and lightening, and few new rivers forming on the fairgrounds. But then again, that's what happens in these parts. You dry the cars off, pick yourselves up from taking a flying leap in the mud (ProStreetGarry!) and move on.

We have three hard luck stories so far, more on these tomorrow.

The indoor exhibit has 12 El Caminos, including some really wild modifieds such as one with a gas grill, Sat TV. The only thing missing was a Lay-Z-Boy recliner! There's a Yenko tribute Elky, a beautiful '71 with orange ghost flames and two Elky's brought to the show by GM... a breathtaking '59 and a beautiful '67.

Tonight a good number of us met up at the pub in town and talked cars, dogs, and whatnot. Everyone is really enjoying themselves.

So far the contender for furthest driven is Sir Tonk's famous musical band "Four Guys in an El Camino." 2,000 miles always with one guy riding in the bed! You gotta see the pictures. Actually that's not their real name but it should be!

Speaking of pictures, I'll post all of mine once I'm home so you'll have to wait until Mon or Tue. But here's a sampling...
