(background) So my passenger window on my '78 elky has not worked since I bought it. My father and I took the interior apart to see if it was just a wiring problem and found no wiring problem. I ordered a replacement motor from advanced online, it is made by Cardone.

This was almost 9 months ago.

I just got around to actually replacing it today, I exposed the bolts holding the motor in and then I went to check the motor to see if it was the correct one and it happens to be one for the drivers side.

I was wondering if anyone might have used this motor and found the same problem or that there was a way to reverse the mounting are so that it would fit on the passenger side.

I was also hoping that there might still be a place that is selling them. (besides the elcaminostore)

some of the time its the switch that goes bad,,check to see if you get power to the motor...check both switches...one switch may keep the other from working..

yes some replacements do,,,,but i dont think all motors will work on both sides,,,mine came with instructions and the extra bracket...

if it has bolts then its been replaced before...they come with rivets...

I don't think it's the switch, I have tried both of them and there is no power to the motor.

Mine looks reversible, but it's very confusing. I will have to look at it again and do some research on that model.

Mine was bolted in stock, unless someone took apart the welds on the door.
