Our El Caminos did EXTREMELY well at Carlisle. Congratulations to all the winners at this great event. I hope we can keep up the tradition of herds of Elkys showing at Carlisle every year. The event organizers had nothing but praise for our outstanding attendance and enthusiasm. Here are the final results.

Of the 17 top El Camino winners of the judged showfield nearly 50% were double winners having been also chosen by Celebrity Judges as their Best in Show. That is an amazing achievement and from what I am being told, the highest percentage ever achieved by any single model. WOW!

Congratulation Jim! Our top award winner was Jim Faucett (Quintonsdusty) who received a total of four top awards for his beautiful 67:
Carlisle Showfield First Place
NECOA Best in Show Stock
NECOA Best in Class (2nd Gen)
Elite Top 10 Carlisle Events Pick

Ken Rogers (KenRogers) was honored with three top awards:
Third Place (3rd Gen)
NECOA Best in Class (3rd Gen)
Celebrity Best in Show by automotive artist David Snyder who presented Ken with a beautiful automotive print.

I was also a Celebrity Judge and my choice for Best in Show was Frank Schwartz's beautiful stock '59.

In addition Bryan Shook had a 59 Apache entered in the show in the "Class of '59" in addition to his El Camino and he was also a double winner in his class. He beat out some '59 Caddy's!

OK... so here they are and CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR WINNERS. A job very well done and an incredible showing for the El Camino.

Well hey Guys, Wow, fantastic showing. Congrats to all the winners, I'm sure they're all well deserved. From the pics I've seen so far there were some stunning Elkys there. Glad it was a success and good time for all (minus the breakdowns of course, they're never fun). Congrats....

Any way to get a total number of Elkys there?

As soon as they email it to me I'll post it. A rough count was about 75-80 but with some coming and going it was hard to know exactly.

I wish to thank the acadamy for these awards ( worst paint, wash me, most dents). Ladies and gentlemen this is a working truck, as you read this it is loaded with the remains of a 30' piine tree that blew down from Fridays storm. Which I let lay in my yard so I could attend the meet. It was an honor to be able to share my El with so many great looking others. You all put a lot of work into them, but I get a lot of work from mine. Again thanks for your vote, I had a great time participating in my first show.:You_Rock:

Sorry for the no show on Saturday night but as I said a 30' pine tree awaiting. And some nursing of a family member was on my mind. But I did have a good time. Even took a nap under the tent and was told that I sawed down a few trees there to.:nanawrench:

Congrats Ken, knew you'd win something with that car.

And we made it back to Houston yesterday around four. Total miles came to around 3980 and I averaged 16.2mpg, unless I lost a few receipts. Not too bad with four people and close to a thousand pounds of gear, plus the extra wind resistance.

We spent $685 on gas alone and will never make that trip again.

Any word on if that story got into the local paper? I haven't heard back from the reporter yet.

Also, or band is going to be on WFMU soon. We recorded a set last Monday on our way out of NYC and I think they're airing in Tuesday. Not sure yet, I'll update this with the time once I find out. And they broadcast online.

Congrats Ken, knew you'd win something with that car.

Thanks, Kriston, for the kind words. There were so many beautiful El Caminos there, especially in Generation 3, that the award from my peers will always have a significant and special meaning to Diana and I.

I'm certainly glad to hear that you and the band made it safely back to Houston. We'll look forward to seeing you at the soonest Plano show that you can make!.........Ken

Hey guys and gals, i've been off line for about a week now, glad to be back on the site, i had a great time at Carlisle, thanks to many of you who were there, this was a very special weekend for me and my family as we were able to spend some quality time away from the daily stresses. that saturday-27th, was also my birthday, and with winning a couple NECOA awards from YOU guys! it was truly a great time, Steffany, really thought highly of the event and my daughters, Magen and Allison loved it too. they now want to go to any car show around!, and my wife Steff does too, for some reason she had this idea it might not be a family environment, i guess someone painted her a picture more like a biker environment. so she was really impressed and thrilled to meet all the great elky people!! so, AGAIN, I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for making it a great weekend.:You_Rock:
P.S. Leo, great work before during and after:beer:
