Hey guys lets start working on 2010 Carlsile and trying to get even more people next year to preregister. We had over 75+ cars but most were not from this site or did not even know about us. It is a ton of fun and they have a lot to do their other then just sitting by your car like other car shows. You will not dissapointed. Also since it is sooooooooo far away you can schedual the time off from work and make arrangments so you can come down. I am going down next year once they start preregisteration.

Don't forget to preregister ASAP if you did not already as NECOA!

I am sure all of those at the show that were not members are now very aware of this site and more than eager to join. Did you guys pass out cards or anything?

I know this has been brought it up in the past, but did anybody design a "business" card that they can carry with them to give to those less fortunate who do not know of ECC?

I am only a few miles away in harrisburg, I attend many of the Carlisle Shows, and I even help the National Guardsmen Park cars during Fall and Spring events. I would also be interested in meeting up with other El Camino enthusiasts in the area for Bench racing, car chatting and shows

How do you count mods? Engine is not original and is modified, is that 1 or 2 mods? Paint is not an original color, emblems are removed, wheels are not original, it now has dual exhausts, aftermarket radio is installed'

My Buick is all stock so I've never had to deal with this for shows.

Make sure you guys preregister as soon as possible. Last year we had over 70 El Camino and kind of ran out of room. We had to park cars sideways and squeeze us all together. Leo did a great job organizing us so we had enough room. So it is vary important we all preregister asap so we can get enough room for all of us who are already register and for people who just show up.

Also make sure you register with necoa

Tuggy24g

I wanted to welcome the new members to are El Camino Central meet at Carlisle PA car show. We all have a blast down there and it is not your average car show. There are a ton of things to do from swap meets, giveaways, drag racing, burnout contests and more. It is a lot of fun. Also we would ask if your planing on going to the event please preregister as necoa from the drop down menu of clubs. preregistration is vary important.

Also if your El Camino is not show quality it does not matter. Last year we gave out some funny awards like dirtiest engine and body. So to us we do not care what your El Camino looks like. All we care about is that you came out to the event to hang with us. So I hope to see you all there and if you need more info you can reply to here or contact me (Tuggy24g (http://elcaminocentral.com/member.php?u=8879)) or LeoC2 (http://elcaminocentral.com/member.php?u=3893)

Just another reminder to preregister for Carlisle as necoa even if you did not reserve your hotel or made a decision yet. When you preregister you allow for a bigger section for us to park. So we do not have to squeeze in tight like last year.Last year Leo did a great job getting all of us next to one another and parking us. We kind of ran out of space for us all to park. I do not want to see us have to do that again so please preregister ASAP so we can get a bigger parking section for this great event.

would love to be there but do not think i will be able to.ran into a few problems with tranny and such and that knocked back my paint and finishing interior a few months and then going from 5 12hr shifts/week to 5 8hr shifts really put a hurt to car money.
tax time i will be finally moving my wife from il back to tn(been a looong 2years).she moved back there due to family illness with her mother(died last year at xmas) and then her step-father died 4 months ago.we talk at least once a day and made the commute every couple months for a weekend when we could.
but anyway,"colleen" will be getting her facelift(ss nose conversion) and a butt-tuck(zr1 roll pan) and then painted sunburst orange pearl with linen gold(was doing orange and black but think lite gold or silver looks better) during april, may, june.
so with all this going on i will have to miss this one.then after mine is done the wife wants another camino for her.we have 2 close by at the local buy here/pay here lots that have been there awhile.a '79 at one lot been there around 4 months and a '80 at another place, been there about 6 months.will be checking those and craigslist next spring.
a little long winded here but i am proud of both the ladies in my life and love them both so.........

Well thundercat2 (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/member.php?u=12393) it does not matter what state your El Camino is in. All we care about is that your El Camino is there and you took the trip to come down. This is one El Camino that was there last year. Still do not know who it is, but like I said we were just happy he or she made the trip

That really has nothing to do with why we attend, we all go because it's fun to hang together and see all those cars in one place.

There's nothing like seeing 10s of El Caminos lined up in rows according to their generation - except maybe hearing the passion in the owners' voices as they discuss their issues with other owners - owners who may have overcame the very same problem. Members score big when they study other crucks for ideas and tips about how to shortcut or circumvent a difficulty. Maybe they go home with a part they've been unable to find before the meeting? Everybody at the meets win, and everyone who doesn't attend loses - BIG TIME! But that's just my opinion, and I may be wrong.............Ken

Folks, as you can see by several threads here on the forums we've been pushing you to pre-register for Carlisle as soon as possible. There are several reasons why this is so important:

- The more pre-registrations we have the better space and the more room we get. My Lincoln club last year had only 15 pre-registrations but 65+ cars came, it was a horror story due to lack of space. So if you know you're coming, register NOW. The more pre-registers we get the more ammunition I have to negotiate space with the Carlisle people.
- Pre-registrations count for 95% of the decision as to what classes to assign, they go a bit by the previous year but very little. If we want all five classes like last year... pre-register now!
- You MUST pre-register and use the pull down menu naming NECOA as your car club. If we get 25 pre-registers we get a 25x25 foot tent for FREE!
- This applies to NECOA awards ONLY: To qualify for a NECOA award and to receive votes the vehicle MUST have been registered with Carlisle as a member of NECOA. The NECOA name MUST appear on your registration placard that is given to the vehicle upon registration. Any winning vehicle NOT registered naming NECOA as the club will be disqualified. (This does not apply to the Carlisle awards, that is separate.)

Registration page: http://store.carlisleevents.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=2010-031
Just some of the many reason you need to preregister ASAP for the show!! Also if your going to go to the show your going to have to pay 30 bucks to get in anyway so preregister and your be doing your self a great favor!

There are a few celebrities coming to the show like the PAPA Johns guys with his Camera and Rachel Veitch is bringing her Chariot that has over 540 thousand miles. So if you want to see them plus a lot of other nice cars and EL Caminos you must come to this show. It is turning out to be a blast!

Also do not forget to preregier as NECOA from the drop down menu of clubs if you did not do so already

Well the show is only the weekend, but we go out to eat on Friday night. I am not sure if Saturday is still on for the banquet dinner we had last year. So come on down and hang with us on Friday and Saturday. We always love to see members of the forum come out to the meet!

Well the show is only the weekend...

Not quite correct, the show starts Friday morning through Sunday, not just the weekend.

Thursday eve for those that are around we can meet for a bite at the Gingerbread Man which is next door to the Comfort Suites.
Friday dinner: Market Cross Pub, 113 North Hanover Street, 7PM
Saturday banquet: Sunnyside Restaurant, 850 N. Hanover St., 7:30PM

You can call or just go to the registration building when you get there. If your going to be there Thursday then I would just wait till you got there. Also let them know if you preregistered a while ago and got nothing.
If your going to be at Carlisle on Friday then call them. It is a pain in the butt to get registered for the show on Friday since that is when most people do it.

CALL THEM! 717-243-7855

First check if you're credit card has been charged, if it has and they have no record of your're registration then they will straight it out on the phone. If it hasn't they can straighten that out too.

Be sure to ascertain that you're registered under NECOA and you're vehicle class is established also.

It's also possible they sent you your docs but they got lost in the mail so definitely call then, DO NOT wait until you get there.
