I just put a Edelbrock 1406 and a performer intake on a 74 with a 350/350 combo. The kickdown cable extends way past the linkage on the carb. Is there another cable OE or aftermarket that is easier to adapt?

I think I have seen new brackets hanging on the wall at Autozone. It moves the cable back toward the firewall so the end is at the correct place to connect to the carb. Might get you going quick. HTH

We don't have Autozone here unfortuately... O'rielly and Napa don't have anything for me. Thank you, I am hoping for something that is more adjustable.

That should be kinda what you need. Autozone had one in stock that worked for me but I had to weld an extension on the metal L bracket that the cable slides into in order to have the right distance on mine (th 350). This thing bolts on the at the rear driver side intake manifold bolts. I would avoid the Spetre throttle bracket, I tried it and bent it the first time I got on it. If you have access to a welder you can just copy that or find a shop that could, be maybe 5 minutes worth or work.

I bought and installed the Edelbrock 8031 throttle cable bracket, which is the one that Edelbrock recommended. Obviously they had a different TH 350 cable in mind. I don't want to modify, I just want to find the cable that actually fits with this set of Edelbrock parts:

Edel. 2101 intake
Edel. 1406 carb
Edel. 8031 throttle cable bracket
mid 70s 350 SBC and TH 350 trans

the cable tie you see is for the carb. Iused them to adjust between kick down and when the back barrels open up.in other words it kicks down before the back barrels open up..better gas milage..:cali:
