I have the mag. that featured it. It looks pretty good but I am just not a fan of the rubber noses. The choo choo looks better. I always thought any of those nose conversions made the front end look to long & takes away from the natual beauty of the side profile, but thats just me. 8-) I like the bed lid & rear spoiler the best.

I agree with Tommy about making the front seem too long. That's one of the reasons I've never cared for the Rancharo, the front just always seemed out of proportion with the bed. I do like the bed cover and would like to get something like that someday for mine.

The package consists of the fiberglass Lumina nose

Lauren does very high quality work all their front ends are rigid fiberglass that can easily be repaired with off the shelf products and can be modified or customized even further easily. So they are not rubber. I have the Stage II complete (IROC El Camino) and it is very nice work and fitment.

I like the look of the XT-2 also and If I were to do another 5th, I'd consider that upgrade my self. I'd probably do a little more modifications on it to upgrade it to a more of a 90's Camaro Look. I also like the Choo Choo look and the Stock look of the El Camino and I agree it is an individual thing.

Just my $0.02 worth.

When I clicked on this link I assumed this was going to be about the true XT2 - http://www.geocities.com/elcamino_1972/xt2.html

I took these photos while GM had it one display at the PPG Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, OH. It was built in 1988. I, however see no correlation with it and the kit that Lauren Engineering is selling . . . wonder why they chose to use the name XT2???

Lauren Engineering has some nice conversions. I don't particularly like the XT2 mod. It reminds me of my old 90` Lumina I had (first car). It just doesn't look right with the older body style of the El Camino. I do like the one elcamino72 linked us to. That is definitely awesome!

The Fall 2003 issue of Truckin' magazine had pictures of two of the XT-2 conversions. I don't like the look. My friend who owns a body shop put one of the Lumina nose conversions on his 86 El Camino. He said it was a PITA to get it to fit properly

Like i said in another post around here... doesnt that kind of take away from it being an el camino a little bit... just putting a different car's front end on it? Im not saying it doesnt look cool though 8-)
