I have this thing in my car by the carb. its a vacumm pump i was told it was a brake booster do any of you know what it is? :-Pits a yellow pump the size of a small air compresser.

GM never used a pump that was colored yellow. Even the hydraboost brake set up for the GN is contained in the cylinder/booster area.

Sounds like something from the aftermarket. Some guys will use a pump or reserve container to generate/accumulate vacum for the brakes if they are using a big cam. That's a possibility. Are there any lines comming off it and if so,where do they go? A pic. would be helpfull.

Sounds like a Air/lift pump does your car have air shocks?

I do have airschocks and the cam i am told is very large not the normal you would find in a 350 i will try to find my camera and post some pics

Air pump? Sounds like your describing one of the large Accel Super coils :cool:

I got an 84 Conquista with air shocks in the back, and it came with a 305 c.i. engine. Mine doesn't have anything like this. It only has a little valve next to the gas cap to fill the shocks with.

for some reason, i have a picture of an egr valve.. with vacuum lines and such.. .. hmm, dunno... i have airshocks as well, but everything is in the back
