My buddy that I told you about is buying that 260Z in California. He's flying out in 2 weeks to pick it up. The only negative is the car has an auto tranny. Obviously he wants to put a 5 speed in it. I thought I would check and see if you could help point him in the right direction as far as finding one and also what all is required (parts wise) to make the swap.
Thanks!

I had an extra 5 speed out of a 80 that I sold two years ago. I will do some checking & see what comes up.

well, just to help point out the obvious, your friend is going to need to get the 5-speed, clutch pedal asym., clutch master cylinder, hoses, dist. blocks if any, new flywheel, clutch disc/ pressure plate, maybe a new brake pedel, not sure if i left anything out, but thats a basic list. Also what year is the z?, maybe i can find a donor car up here and pull some parts. Not to butt in or anything....

Thanks for the responses and help offers. I will be out of town this weekend and I don't know if I'll have access to a computer. I will try to log on and share some more info and see if anyone has run across anything. I will try and put my buddy in touch with you too. That way you'll have a more direct contact. His name is Toby

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hi and thanks to Bobby for helping us out looking for parts for our 260z. We haven't done something like this before, so we would like all the information we can get, as well as any help finding all the parts! :) Thank you very much for everyone's help.

Email me off site & I'll hook you up with some contacts. I have worked on the older Zs but I dealt mainly with 280ZXs.
