Hello,

I am completly redoing my interior: updated dash, trim seats, ect. Most of the screws that I removed were rusted and stripped.

I have not really come up with a good idea as to how to put it back together (still a month or so away) I really do not want to put those lousy screws back into my nice new interior....so what do other people do?

I was gonna hit the hardware store and try to match up as many as I could...however, I'm wondering if there was an easier way. I know there are kits for redoing entire engines......Has anyone put together a kit that has all of the interior fastners for us g body guys?

I also thought about using a wire wheel to clean up the screws (1 by 1) however, that will be a last resort.

Thanks....

Jimmy

I've seen interior screw kits for 3rd gen Elkys and Chevelles but not for 5th gens. You may want to try going to a marine supply store. Most have a really good assortment of Phillips Oval Head stainless steel sheet metal screws. These are a good replacement for the interior plastic trim pieces. Try a place like West Marine.

Also if you know the sizes you need, try www.boltdepot.com to piece together a set of stainless steel sheet metal screws.
