Alright I know I have been asking for a lot of help and have only been able to give back a little but I wanted everyone to know that I couldn't have gotten this far without the good members of this site. Please keep in mind that this is the first time I have ever painted a car. I hope these pictures come up I have never posted pics on here before. Let me know what you think and thanks again for all the help everyone. The Vette is my Dad's I was just helping put in a clutch. The 64 impala ss took my father and I seven years to build it is a complete body off restoration 350 with a tremeck 5 speed. It hauls. http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/impala.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/vetteimpala.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/camino.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/elcofrontend.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/passsideelco.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/elcointerior.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/overheadelco.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/overheadelcoclose.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae42/dpotter4/caminogate.jpg

That's one sweeeeet El Camino! I really dig it when builders stretch the envelope and build something new and exciting.I have a great appreciation for stock restorations that's like history but good custom builds are art. The overhead console is cool and the interior is real creative. Nice job.

Looks great. All of them. What did the overhead console come out of? Been toying with the idea of doing that mod to my car.

Late model GM truck/SUV. Same thing I have in my Silverado. Just about looks as if it were designed for that purpose too!

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm no mechanic but I try hard. The overhead is out of a 2001 silverado. I had a welding buddy of mine tig weld some brackets that I made onto the roof so I could mount it. The metal is really thin on the roof and tig welding still warped it. It creates more body work and you will have to repaint but I like it. I got lucky and was repainting anyway so it wasnt an issue.

Awesome dude!!
Tell me, are these the PROCAR SCAT seats?? I was thinking about putting some in my 79. If they are, have you used their adapters to bolt them on the floor pan?
Another question, do you have the stock coil springs ? Doesn't seem lowered. I'm trying to figure out if mine has and it appears that yours sits quite the same as mine !

Cheers

Uli

ULI they are 2004 Monte Carlo SS seats. You will have to cut some on the floor to make it work. They are one of the few black leather seats that aren't the charcoal color, I wanted leather. Having done it I would maybe look into some black leather seats out of a Jetta, just an idea to play with. I personally still need to wire up the heated seats but I hope to have time this fall to do so. I believe the Jetta seats can come with heaters too. The console is out of a 95 blazer and the fit is tight but there is just enough room. If you go that way email me and I can provide some more details of what I had to do to make it fit. Thanks for the comments guys I honestly couldn't have done it without your input and knowledge, I sincerely mean that, this website rocks.
