elcamino74guy 09-04-2009, 06:53 PM I don't like Jessie Combs. I mean he knows his stuff but he just annoys me.
I like to watch Gearz on Speed channel with Stacey David (old host of TRUCKS!)
and the PowerBlock (especially HorsepowerTV) on Spike. Well I like the powerblock
except for Xtreme 4x4. At least they got rid of the girl. She knew her stuff too but was
even more annoying. Hot Rod TV was ok too until they started spending way too much
time at SEMA. I mean they show it so much I don't even wish I could go there anymore...:smileyb:

Who do you think that is in the DupliColor web show?
Tuggy24g 09-06-2009, 10:42 AM This is the first show were they do not have a supermodel type girl that is in their show. I also like how they are doing all the work on an El Camino. Gives me some idea on what to do with mine.
elcamino74guy 09-07-2009, 03:09 PM Yeah, whatever, I don't remember names on TV shows. I only know Stacey David because his name is on the title of GEARZ and they show it before and after every commercial break. Anyway, I just remember the cars and see work getting done. I ignore the human type things that keep making noises and flailing their arms...
:nanawrench:
howardsells2000 09-08-2009, 08:26 PM I think it's very interesting. I will probably watch all of the episodes.
358L-CO 02-14-2010, 10:20 AM Just seen the commercial and i looked it up to get a link on here and where does google bring me? Right here... The Elky sure is coming along and it does look good... 2 toned black and orange the interior looks like a light blue or gray though
MrCryptic 02-14-2010, 02:43 PM looks nice, but why do a half a** job imho. :dontknow:
the exterior paint has alot of orange peel, check it out at 4:05 on the final reveal video (10)
i believe it came up before but at 5:50 in the same vid she calls it a "1969" el camino.
i mean dont get me wrong i like the concept and idea behind promoting their products, but if you wanted the before/after effect. should've bought two '79 Elkys.
and she still appears like a "super model type girl" to me. especially if she cant get the year right :/
steelybill 02-14-2010, 04:00 PM A friend painted his 4X4 pickup with the Duplicolor paint, and it came out beautiful. Of course, he is kind of anal anyway, and really fussy about the prep. That's why I had him paint my Malibu !!
358L-CO 02-14-2010, 04:32 PM When I initially seen everything I didnt know it was a half of a build.. It still seemed pretty cool.. Honestly I would have just done the whole car and kept detailed pictures.. I didnt like the color combination couldnt see the ghosting stripe at all.. Still pretty cool that one person could do something like this at a reasonable price
MrCryptic 02-14-2010, 05:29 PM where did you catch the price and how much were they saying?
deecamino84 02-14-2010, 05:59 PM Checking it out right now. Thanks for this link! This is something I definately may consider when I paint my ride later this year if I do it myself... Its pretty informative.
358L-CO 02-14-2010, 10:15 PM where did you catch the price and how much were they saying?
Well i know for a fact that the actual paint is like 20 a quart but not sure with all the small spray cans.. Ive seen a couple for like 6 and 7 dollars..
MrCryptic 02-15-2010, 06:58 AM I've been buying the Duplicolor Interior paint. i just changed the entire interior from Oxblood Red to Medium Blue. I've bought at least 9 Cans at 6$ each. :/
And i even skimped on the door panels because they were gray and didnt need as many coats.
I did all the trim, the Dash, and the door panels. Unfortunately not much life to one can. :poke:
But it turned out great! The upper door panels have rubbed off paint already under the window crank, but you cant see it unless you take the crank off.
358L-CO 02-15-2010, 09:12 AM Has anyone ever painted their seats?
bigjoenvegas 02-15-2010, 09:56 AM Great link! I think I am gonna two-tone my elco black and silver with this paint. It's inexpensive, pre-mixed and I'll double up the metallic clear!

I can't get any video to play; maybe I'm missing a codec or the right software to play it. What player are they using?

The videos are all on youtube... Try just looking up duplicolor tv
MrCryptic 02-15-2010, 02:47 PM I painted a section of my seat, but it's fabric, it looks sort of like the color but the red seat makes it very dark. I would not want to paint a fabric seat with the paint it would take to much. But i know it's not meant for a full fabric bench seat. It's meant for vinyl.
The carpet on the door panels painted really nice - the fabric and the vinyl too.
