: factory routing of small block V8 plug wires?

My 82 Elky has a stock 305 and I'm getting ready to put new spark plug wires on it.
I bought a set of custom (pre-cut to fit) wires for it and noticed the routing of the existing wires is different on each side of the engine.

The driver side wires go UNDER the factory stock exhaust and up the back of the engine to distributor.
The pass. side, however, goes OVER the valve cover to the dist.

Is this how the general done it from the factory or has someone changed one side of mine?

Also thought it kind of strange that when I opened the new set of wires, there were six wires with 90 degree plug terminals and two with straight terminals. If this is correct, which two are supposed to get the straight terminals?

Anybody got a stock small block in theirs that you know has the correct factory routing? :( Thanks in advance for your help.

My MC SS was originally run like that. When I replaced the wires in it, I run over the cover on both sides. It worked fine.

I think that those go to #3 and #4, the straight booted wires. I had to quit useing that type beacuse one side works with my headers and the other side melts (requires a 90). SO I get Accel or some other good brand all with the 90 degree boots 8.5MM.

If you measure them out that is where they fit the best anyway. (3 & 4)
