I have found a couple of guys on the net that have converted the rear drums to discs and it looks like an easier conversion than the 12" front brake conversion that alot of guys have done. Has anyone done this and is my assumption true? To me, it looks like this upgrade would do a helluva good job in helping the braking problem without all the upper control arm issues. I will probably do the 12" front brake job in the future but I am REALLY interested in this topic.

thought i would mention that the front brakes do roughly 70% of the stopping. without upgrading the fronts you could end up with the rears locking up and we all know what happens when that occurs. better brakes on the rear would be nice but not if the fronts aren't improved as well. commonly known as a balanced braking system. have a good one.

Have any of you guys seen the 12" brake upgrade using LS-1 camaro brake parts, you have to do just a little fabbing but its a whole lot cheaper than the b-body upgrade and yo don't need different upper control arms. Here's a link about it 12" LS-1 brake upgrade (http://www.montecarloss.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=002022)

rears do 70% of the braking unless you run truck-arm rear suspension, then you get about 60/40 on top of the outstanding improvement in handling. Just another reason to think about updating to a way cool rear suspension. BTW with a good 12" disc on all 4 and truck-arms, you could get the camino to stop quicker than a Z06 :D
