My friend and i pulled the transmission and finally put in the new Flywheel this El Camino needed very badly, easy job other than those stubborn transmission cooling lines, whole job took about 4 hours, also the transmission mount was shot.
Also put in a new "extra cooling" radiator so my cooling system is in great shape again.
The car runs great its mostly driven by a 100 lb. blonde so the 305 is plenty of power.
I kept the smog crap and the CCC system because i want to keep it original because
I realize these 5 gens are NOT muscle cars and if that's what i want then i would get a 70 Chevelle or Nova, rather they are very reliable light trucks.
Yes i do love El Camino's even the ones with 305's!
Thanks Guys,
