hey im working on taking my dash apart right now to get it upholstered, and ive been wanting to do some after market gauges. so i was wondering if there is a complete kit that will directly fit in my 1984 elky or what do i have to do? i saw the circuit board on the back and now i dont know what to do lol!!

i know of dakota digital and thats something im thinking of doing...but is there any other options?

Well I would do dakota digital since they look soooooooooooooo cool. They are better then just regular gauges and they are able to read beyond what a gauges can read. Worth the money in my option

I am doing the DD right now and am very impressed at the quality of the package. FYI, they give you both the blue and teal face plate. Hopefully by next weekend I'll have it all powered up. The only thing I did not take into account is the trans gear indicator. On my '80 this shows up on the speedo. DD has an adapter, but that looks like it adds another $80-$100....was leaning towards getting a floor shifter anyway....

so whats the total cost on everything you need for dakota digital setup?

From Summit, it tears the heck out of a $700 bill...DAK-VFD381CMCZ part#...That doesn't include the adapter for the shift indicator. I figured to do quality analog gauges I'd be pretty close to that. Plus there's a couple of features included with the DD package that you wouldn't get going analog.
