Hello All Nice to meet you! Although I am a Monte Carlo lover, I just bought a 1968 SS El Camino. It needs some work but in great shape for an un-restored 68 . It runs and drives and with a little tuning, it should rip some doors off. I'll post some pics later and I'm looking forward to talking to some of you fanatics. :D

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Ray!
I like Monte Carlos too. In fact if it wasn't for the 4th generation Monte Carlo us 5th generation El Camino folks wouldn't have all that neat SS stuff to swap into our rides.

Hey! Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate the welcome notes. This 68 SS is one I hope to hang onto for quite some time. I presently have six 86 & 87 Monte Carlo SS's (no El Camino's though) but the 305 Hi Po's are no match at all for this true factory hot rod. I have a lot of work to get done to restore it to it's original condition but none the less I am very excited about this rare find. Springer? You're from Lubbock! We may have to get together sometime so I can get a few good pointers. Yes,,I am a fanatic too! Thanks to All!

Hey! I'm new here! I have no idea what generation 2003 is. I stopped buying Monte Carlo's when they went front wheel. Out of more than a dozen vehicles 1987 is the newest model. I get confused when the motor is sideways! You are welcome to visit anytime or if I get Plainview/Lubbock way I'll give advance notice. Talk to ya later, fanatic
I get confused when the motor is sideways! Ain't that the truth...Welcome to the group!

Welcome! It's noce to see more third gen owners as I have a 1969 with a 350. The SS package is more popular but I REALLY like my 350.

Wow guys! I really appreciate all the replies, I've been on other forums and not recieved this kind of communication. This El Camino must be good luck. Meatball? I think a 350 would be plenty of motor for an El Camino, but this 402 or 454 in my SS I do believe is going to be dangerous to my health, 8) You see,,, my right foot weighs around 30 LBS. It was a very lucky find. I could have shot some photos today but I forgot the camera, sorry!
