I was wondering if anyone could give me some useful information on a 1981 gmc caballero, not looking for anything in general, maybe some websites that show alot of products for them, or if you have some experiances from it. Thanks for all the responses.

There are quite a few members here experienced with the '78-'87 Caminos and Caballeros (myself included). Ask any specific questions you like and I'm sure you'll get good answers. Also, play around a bit with the search function. Lots of valuable info there.

most of the parts for a el camino will fit the caballero. I have an 84 caballero and would like to make it an ss. el camino. Look for different things you can do and have fun with it.

I use www.opgi.com (http://www.opgi.com) have got great service from them there is also www.honestcharley.com (http://www.honestcharley.com) and www.laureneng.com (http://www.laureneng.com) .A friend of mine did have a problem with Honest Charleys they took his money and put his parts on back order for almost a year so be sure to ask about availabilty before you put your money down because it can be a bear to get it back if you find it elsewhere. good luck.

Also check out suspension parts for gbody cars. gbodyforum.com has some good information related specifically to those years. Some of the turbo buick websites have specialty suppliers hat can custom-make parts for our caballeros (stainless etching etc).

I had a hard time finding Caballero specific information on the internet myself and what I did find was often conflicting in terms of production numbers or original equipment offerings etc.

Just whaat are you looking for and is your car a daily driver , or car show/ I have a 80 Caballero and I found alot of my Chrome that I replaced on E-bay. Just my 2 cents Michael
