Hey, I'm from Castle Rock, Wa and I have had my 78 for about three years now. Right now I am at the University of Idaho studying Mechanical Engineering. I just found this site and it looks like any questions could be answered here.

Welcome to a great site, Justin. Nice elky. How did you get your avatar that big? I thought it was only surposed to be 100x50 pixs.

Sorry about the avatar, thought it could be 300x300 but that was for the profile pic. Got it right now.

Welcome Justin! How do you like the speed 750 demon? I'm installaing one on my 350 this Sunday. Anything special I should know about the setup?

The speed demon is awesome, once you get the engine dialed in around it. I put it on and had a heck of a time getting everything to work right, but then again it was a brand new engine and I had some other things wrong too. I eventually had to take it to someone that new what their way around a demon. The first thing he said is get rid of the vacuum advance line and use the built in mechanical advance in the distributor. Then set the timing at 32-34 degrees at like 3000 rpm and let it be. My initial was somewhere around 15-18 degrees, just what Demon will suggest. I thought it would be too much, but it works fine and runs like a champ; awesome throttle response, no hesitation at all. I love it.

Thanks Justin. Ill give it a try and let you know how it worked out. I really don't know about the mechanical advance but I'm sure messing with the timing until it settles down will work. I HAVE A 9/16 WRENCH AND A BUDDY TO FOLLOW ME AROUND ON THE TEST DRIVES IN CASE I NEED HELP.
