I am trying to make the show with my 70. Interior will not be complete, but hey, the rest of the El Camino looks awesome.
I fired it up 2 days ago, (has not run in 19 months), did all the right things...pulled distributor, spun the oil pump (50#'s), pulled the spark plugs, squirted a little "motor medic" in the cylinders. Took valve covers off, wanted to watch roller rockers and springs do their thing while I turned engine over by hand. Put valve covers back on and spun with starter. Put distributor back in (after indexing) and spark plugs. Turned key, electric fuel pump filled carbs...turned key a little more...it started instantly! :nanawrench:
I have to bleed the brakes (everything is new). Shifter is in Park, don't touch it till I have brakes.
Hope to make the show, I have attended the last 2 years as a spectator, would like to be a part of the show.

REGISTRATION: 9am til 12 noon, $20 per entry. No pre-registrations. Contact Mike Scott 561-301-4270.

Looking forward to seeing your elky but doubt I'll make this one, plan on making the trip to Cocoa early next year.
For now I'll settle for the latest pictures.
Take care.

Hey Glenn, I forgot where that is held. I know I was there last year but at my age a year means the details never happened.
Can't wait to check out the red bomb.

Hey Glenn , it`s good to hear all your work is coming together . WE enjoyed the previous photos of your work online and it was fun talking to you at last year`s Super Chevy Show at Palm Beach International Raceway . That was a fun show and we had a good turnout . I also liked the old photo in your signature of you holding up an arm full of tangled wires . Tuggy24g is right in that we are lucky to have shows to go to when so many others have shut down because of the weather . Good news for them is that they are close enough to Carlisle to attend the Elky`s 50 th Celebration . I only wish Key West was closer to you guys on the mainland . Oh well , it`s always something . Hopefully we can get together before but like La Carretera said , pencil in Cocoa Beach Winterfest in 2010 . www.FlaCarShows.com . More photos please .

Is that on US1 or intercoastal? Can't remember that place.

On US 1, Intercoastal is a stones throw East of Park. Bring your rod and real.
Great location, 2 restaurants across the street, The Carving Station (all you can eat), and the Southern Kitchen (just good food).
Young kids will enjoy the swings, slides, etc., in the park.:inlove:
