I am trying to make the show with my 70. Interior will not be complete, but hey, the rest of the El Camino looks awesome.
I fired it up 2 days ago, (has not run in 19 months), did all the right things...pulled distributor, spun the oil pump (50#'s), pulled the spark plugs, squirted a little "motor medic" in the cylinders. Took valve covers off, wanted to watch roller rockers and springs do their thing while I turned engine over by hand. Put valve covers back on and spun with starter. Put distributor back in (after indexing) and spark plugs. Turned key, electric fuel pump filled carbs...turned key a little more...it started instantly! :nanawrench:
I have to bleed the brakes (everything is new). Shifter is in Park, don't touch it till I have brakes.
Hope to make the show, I have attended the last 2 years as a spectator, would like to be a part of the show.
REGISTRATION: 9am til 12 noon, $20 per entry. No pre-registrations. Contact Mike Scott 561-301-4270.
