I've had my '81 Camino for about 6 months now, and I've finally got around to putting my single DIN head unit in so I can listen to something other than Radio. Easier said than done. I can't seem to find a dash kit for the '81, only '82 and above. I assume anyone who is reading this is familar with the stock stereo mounts, which use four screws on a front panel, and the radio is fastened with the radio's knob nuts to a metal bracket. The head unit I have is like most new head units and mounts using screws on the side. If I have to make an adapter I will, but does anyone know anywhere where one can get a head unit/dash kit for an '81 Camino? Or even any specs on custom made ones? Thanks

Ive have just recently got a cd/mp3player installed into my dash..i live in canada so i just went to the place were i bought it from did a little bit of sweet talking and got my self a free install. Wasnt that hard to talk my way into it but they found out for them selves it was well worth it for me because they had a hell of a time trying to mount it, probley they same problem you are having. If i was you i would just take it to an audio place and have them instal it for you it wont cost you to much money and save you the headace of doing something wrong. Well worth it
