I would sugest you get a glass place, if you never saw one done. you have to be very care ful and have lots of patience one wrong move and the glass is cracked. to remove you can use a guitar string to saw around the edges and a thin sharp knife for the corners and it helps if you have two people.

tried that on the parts car.....perfect windshield, not a mark in it after 20 years, almost had it out and was just finishing cutting the last corner of the seal....craaaak!..I should have been using the wire tool with the 2 handles....guess glass doesn't flex much :(

L.D. -- This is one of those projects that a professional can complete in less time than it would take you to even line up the tools to start it. Visit your local auto glass shop and get a quote from them to take it out for you and store it while you do whatever work you are planning and then have them re-install it. Stay an extra hour or two at your job on overtime to pay the glass professionals and save yourself a lot of hassle. Why risk having to spend $$$$ to replace a cracked windshield? Focus your efforts on those other tasks that have little or no risk to mess up your budget. Good luck!

The windshield is in the car I'm getting the dash from. Its 35 miles from nearest glass man. Guess I'll skip glass and go have a new one installed after I get the dash in.
Thanks
