:evil: the electric choke thermostat on my 82 is busted. lookin $38-45 to get a new one. im tired of messin with this thing. i was looking at edelbrock 4bbl, any one else with a stock engine/manifold put one of these things on? i know i would need a spacer to swith from 2bbl to 4bbl, but would it bolt on? would all the lines fit (vaccum, fuel)? witch carb do you suggest, im looking at the 1400 but they have rebuilt 9906 that are cheaper. if anyone has been down this road before please help.

Your factory carb is an electronic feedback carb. Switching to a non-electronic carb is a can of worms you don't want to open unless you're planning on big changes.

Get another carb at the junkyard, IMO.

I will have to change the intake also.
