My current engine is a 350 .30 over and zero decked. I want to build a stroker but the fact it's been zero decked concerns me, can it still be properly machined for a new rotating assembly? :dontknow: Barely over 5000 miles since I bought and rebuilt it so cylinders should be pristine still.

makes a nice 383 just adjust deck hieght with piston crowns,. unless you took a 1/4 ic off the block it:poke: shouldn't be an issue!

Absolutely,, I have two 383's, both zero decked. It has nothing to do with the block clearancing necessary for some rods. Just be cautious in choosing pistons and heads that you don't pump compression up above the fuel your willing to run.

Thanks for the replies, using the formulas I've found online and knowing the stroke and piston currently in the motor. I believe it's been decked to 9.003 .022 taken off, does this sound right? Also I'm pretty certain with 6" rod 3.75 stroke I'd need a 1.125 compression height which is fairly common on Summit, and I'd be .003 in the hole.
