This is my vin 13680K155202 , Can anyone help me out with this . I bought this 68 Elcamino about five years ago in loveland , Co, and have rebuilt the engine which is a 70 block 396 (402) , numbers do not match but that does not matter to me it may not be the orginal engine but she still has that awesome chevy horsepower . Any help with the vin would be appreciated . Thanks Rick

Your vin identifies your El Camino as an El Camino Custom, not a SS. A SS would be 13880. Your car was built in Kansas City, 55,202nd car off the line. But with big block power, a hell of a nice driver! :D

I put the vin in incorrect last time i missed a # I under stand that the K is for Kanas and the # it was produced but does these first # 's change anything 136808 then k 155202 . thanks again . Rick

But Rick, if somebody went to all the trouble to clone a SS, big block, hood, emblems, etc. it could be more feasible to leave it as a clone! 8) Personally, I think if it were mine, I'd do that! :)

Actually that is a great idea and when I bought the car I knew there was a chance it was a clone , but it was what I went searching for an elcamino 68 of any kind and it looked so good could not pass it up . I think I will leave it as a clone , I have done some customizing already like built my own console , installed a shifter , and bucket seats , and put alot of chrome under the hood , all I need to do now is suspention , brakes , a new paint job , some interior . But that comes with time and money and right now I have more time than money , Thanks for the idea I think it will stick , I did enter in the real ride challenge for horse power TV hoping they would do the cash and work part for me. The winner is announced this weekend . Rick :)
