While changing out the motor mounts the other day I somehow must have loosened a ,at least it looks like, vacuum hose that comes out of the fire wall just above the brake pedal. Any suggestions(no rude ones)what to connect this hose to?

Does your El have cruise control? That may be the vacuum dump line. It connects to the switch at the brake pedal and to the cruise vacuum servo.

hel98 Yep. has cruise controlbut not sure what to look for near break pedal. Dont see an obvious vacuum connector. Is it near something else for a reference point. Its dark here now so Ill have to look closer in the am. Thanks for the quick feedback, as usual Team El Camino Owners comes thru.Brain Boru

The vacuum hose for cruise goes to a plunger that is mounted just like the brake light switch, above the pedal arm. You will see it up there.
The plunger is moved when the pedal is pushed, opening the vacuum to the cruise cannister, releasing the throttle.

SteelyBill.Your decription of the hook up was right on. Thanks a million.Changing the motor mounts(my previos post) made an incredible difference in performance. Would advise a close inspection to one and all that have a major"clunk"sound while shifting or driving on bumpy roads. Smoothed out everything.Well worth the effort. Parts are cheap, labor is a pain, results are significant. Thanks to one and all.Brian Boru
