While trying to get my 87 V6 to pass CA smog I almost was tempted to use a block the previous owner threw into the deal.It looks different from the one in now. The freeze plugs are fewer in number and in different locations than the one I finally got to pass(after being designated as a Gross Polluter)By the way, the guy who finally passed it said that CA has done away with the Gross Polluter S**T list and I should be good for two years between inspections. I hope he was right. The block number(as best I can make) A001209BKD. Not an urgent question Im just curious. Thanks Brian Boru

Brian, get the forging # off the rear of the drivers side block, just below where the head bolts to, also there will be a date code, it colud be on the same back side of the block or it maybe on the passenger side, should be something like b262,, Feb 26 1992, or theb date code could have the year spelled out as well, that A001209BKD number I got nothing on it yet,, matty man:beer:
